At Midway Analytics we are passionate about helping the addiction treatment and behavioral health community offer hope to those suffering from Substance Use Disorder, especially as our country faces the daunting challenge of addressing the deadly Opioid Crisis.
With 7 years of experience as a marketer and development professional in the nonprofit sector I worked with multiple arts and human services organizations. However, as I took on the role of Marketing Manager for Midway Analytics, I sought to find a way to both better understand and serve the addiction treatment community specifically.
This desire lead me to researching the Certificate in Addiction Treatment Marketing (C-ATM) offered by the Behavioral Health Association of Providers (BHAP). Flashforward to today and I have now officially received my badge of recognition for completing the certificate.

What is the Certificate in Addiction Treatment Marketing?
The C-ATM is a certification program that includes 6 courses offered online by BHAP and is the first of its kind, designed to set a standard for marketers in addiction treatment. According to their website, the program will allow you to:

My 3 Greatest Takeaways from Earning the C-ATM
1. Know the Laws
Laws that affect the addiction treatment community are ever-changing and in some cases vary by state. It is important to know all of the laws and types of laws that apply to your treatment center or organization. I highly recommend the Behavioral Health Association of Providers’s educational resources including the C-ATM to learn about the specific laws that govern our community.
2. Be Ethical (Not Just Legal)
Ethics are the moral principles that govern a person or organization’s behavior. Such principles include honesty, integrity, fairness and respect for others.
While it can take the government and other regulatory agencies time to discover practices that they deem unethical and to create specific laws to address them, that should never be used as an excuse to not operate ethically.
The C-ATM includes courses that dive specifically into “Corporate Ethics and Compliance,” “Ethical Communications in Marketing” as well as “Ethical Compensation Practices.”
